Week 1: Introduction to Phlebotomy & Basic Skills

• Infection Control & Safety Procedures (OSHA, HIPAA)
• Proper Hand Hygiene & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Introduction to Equipment: Needles, Tubes, Tourniquets, etc.
• Blood Collection Procedures & Order of Draw
• Hands-on Practice: Simulated Blood Draws
Week 2: Venipuncture Techniques & Patient Interaction
• Site Selection & Identifying Suitable Veins
• Different Blood Collection Methods (Vacutainer, Syringe, Butterfly)
• Complications & How to Handle Difficult Draws
• Patient Communication & Professionalism
• Special Considerations (Pediatric, Geriatric, and Difficult Patients)
• Hands-on Practice: Live Venipuncture Training
Week 3: Advanced Techniques & Lab Procedures
• Capillary & Fingerstick Collection
• Blood Smears & Specimen Handling
• Understanding Lab Tests & Tube Additives
• Preventing Hemolysis & Contamination
• Recognizing & Managing Adverse Reactions
• Hands-on Practice: Performing Multiple Live Blood Draws
Week 4: Final Review, Certification Prep & Career Readiness
• Review of All Phlebotomy Skills & Procedures
• Written Exam & Practical Skills Evaluation
• Resume Building & Job Interview Preparation if needed
